Early Childhood Aftercare Teacher

Aftercare Teacher Responsibilities:
-Receive the students, ages 3-6, continuing their day up to 5:15PM.
-Coordinate with Lead teachers on programmatic rhythms.
-Coordinate with Lead teachers on how students were faring during the school day to be best prepared for shepherding students for these additional hours.
-Interface with Extended Day Aftercare Coordinator.
-Greet parents warmly (in person, through email, on the telephone) and assist with their aftercare questions/needs.
-Leave pertinent messages for Lead teachers, where applicable.
-Confirm that all students have been picked up and signed out by an authorized adult.
-Organize and distribute snacks.

Assignment.  The Employee shall serve the School in the position assigned by the Extended Day Coordinator.  The Employee agrees to be present at the School for all assigned hours, typically Monday through Thursday, 2:30PM-5:30PM on school days.  Additional work may be available during school breaks and in the summer camp program.  There is a separate application process for that work which can be explored with the Aftercare Coordinator. 

Applicants should be 21 years of age, be able to work in Gmail and enjoy the company of children. Applicants should have evidence of reasoning ability in prior work experience; ability to solve practical problems and provide a joyful experience for the students. CPR and First Aid training required and can be organized and paid for by the school. This is a good opportunity for a college/graduate student or someone returning to the workforce. 

Compensation: $20 an hour

First Grade Class Teacher

Berkshire Waldorf School is seeking a full time First Grade class teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Ideally, candidates would have Waldorf teaching experience. Effective classroom management, communication, and the ability to collaborate are priorities. Classroom support and mentoring will be provided.

Qualifications & Experience

Our curriculum includes language/s, handwork, woodwork, music, eurythmy, an educational support program and physical education. Festivals and celebrations are community-oriented. Our Board is active and well-established, and our strong Parent Association reflects a supportive and diverse parent body. An active Anthroposophical branch and First Class are in the area, as well as a nearby teacher training center. Our school is located approximately 140 miles north of NYC and 120 miles west of Boston, in a county that is renowned for its cultural and artistic communities, rich history and picturesque New England landscapes.

This position has a base salary of $45,000 with increases dependent on experience. Benefits include: health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, tuition remission, and a paid professional development stipend.
