Maple Sugar Moon!
“Happy Maple Sugar Moon (March)! What a heartwarming and fun community party we had yesterday. Seeing our whole school come together like that, the grins of our kids careening down the hillside…it gave me the boost I needed to push through this last bit of winter. We really appreciate being together – there was so much fun and love out there in the sun and snow. That was also definitely the first time I’ve ever tried diving into a river in March…now I want to go every day!

“March is actually a favorite month of mine in the Berkshires, because it’s where the hope of spring really grows. The days flip/flop between freezing and warm, but the snow is getting softer and turning to mud, the sap is dripping, it’s light out after 5:00 pm(!) and if you listen, you can hear many Spring bird songs once more.

“Speaking of treasured signs of Spring, we will tap a maple tree together as a class this week. We always have so much fun with this, and usually get a decent amount of syrup for the class out of it too! We’ve already been visiting the maple grove. The children love playing there and watching the big kids on their sleds. Maple sugaring has also been the theme of our circle time. “
