Berkshire Waldorf School is one of over 1,000 Waldorf schools, part of the fastest-growing independent school movement worldwide. Waldorf education was founded in 1919 by scientist and philosopher Rudolf Steiner. Teachers take care to balance intellectual, emotional and social growth, while developing each child's resilience and capable will. BWS teachers root lessons in experience rather than abstract concepts; a botany lesson, for example, begins with a close look at a living plant.
